A native of Elk Grove, Carda starred at UCLA, where she became one of the most versatile and decorated players ever to wear the Bruins uniform.
A three-time NFCA First Team All-American, Carda dominated both in the circle and at the plate. She finished as one of only a handful of players in NCAA history to record more than 1,000 career strikeouts while also hitting over 50 career home runs. Her career totals included more than 120 pitching wins, over 1,300 strikeouts, and a batting average above .340.
Carda led UCLA to multiple Women’s College World Series appearances before building an impressive international résumé with the USA Softball Women’s National Team. She earned a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics and helped Team USA capture multiple world championship and international titles.
