Raised in Yorba Linda, California, Jen Schroeder played softball at UCLA, where her transition to catcher and experience overcoming injury helped shape the coach and mentor she would become. Learning a demanding new position taught her the value of preparation, resilience, and connection—lessons she now passes on to the next generation.
Jen turned that passion for teaching into an entrepreneurial career. As the founder of Jen Schro Catching and a co-founder of The Packaged Deal, launched in 2014, she has created opportunities for young athletes to learn through lessons, clinics, camps, retreats, and online instruction. Jen Schro Catching has trained catchers since 2009, connecting position-specific development with a supportive, competitive community.
Her approach goes beyond receiving, blocking, throwing, and footwork. Jen challenges athletes to develop confidence, communicate clearly, set goals, and lead with purpose. By pairing technical instruction with mindset and leadership development, she helps girls recognize their strengths and carry what they learn on the field into everyday life.
Through her coaching businesses, national clinics, digital training, and work as an ESPN softball analyst, Jen has built a platform that reaches athletes and families far beyond Southern California. Her legacy is rooted in giving back to the game: helping young women find their voice, believe in their abilities, and see new possibilities for themselves.
